Raw video: Basement fire in Pittsfield, Massachusetts apartment building spreads to roof.

Video from a fire Saturday afternoon in an apartment building in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. The clip above shows an early view of the fire with smoke showing. The videographer then returns to the scene about an hour later.

From BerksireEagle.com:

According to Pittsfield Fire Chief Robert Czerwinski, the 911 call reporting a small fire in the basement of the structure came in at about 12:30 p.m. Saturday. The fire was mostly under control by 7 p.m. with firefighters still working inside the building.

Several occupants of the building, at 151-153 Bartlett Ave., said there was an electrician working in the basement earlier in the day.

From iberskshires.com:

The chief said the fire started in the basement and moved through the attic, helped along by the 160-year-old building's balloon construction.

The department received a call of smoke in the basement at about 12:30 Saturday afternoon. As the large fire moved through the 28 apartments, Pittsfield called surrounding towns for mutual aid.

Adams, Cheshire, Lanesborough, Lenox, Hinsdale and Richmond responded.
