The video above is from SeanBlackPhotography’s channel on YouTube of a two-alarm fire late Tuesday night at 5400 E. 21st Street in Wichita, Kansas. Wichita Fire Department Captain Stuart Bevis told Beccy Tanner at The Wichita Eagle the fire had spread from a balcony into the attic of the building at the Woodgate Apartments.:

The fire started with a lit cigarette butt poked in potting soil and left in a plastic container on a plastic table on an apartment balcony.

When fire crews started to fight the fire, “unfortunately it had progressed into the attic and crews had to be pulled out because the roof was starting to collapse,” Bevis said.
