Texas firefighter arrested after claiming he & his family had Covid

Felony charge for Dallas Fire-Rescue firefighter investigators believe went to resort during paid "Covid leave"

Investigators have information that a Dallas Fire-Rescue firefighter visited a resort while being on paid “Covid leave”. That firefighter, William Carter, has been arrested for felony theft. Charging documents show that Carter was never able to provide test results or even a note from a doctor to support his claim that his family tested positive.

A Dallas Fire-Rescue employee was arrested Friday, after officials said he claimed he and his family tested positive for COVID-19 in order to get time off work.

According to court documents, William Carter, 38, who works at Fire Station 7, has been charged with felony theft.

An arrest warrant says Carter requested COVID-19 leave on March 24 due to his spouse testing positive.
