KVUE-TV:

A house fire in Northwest Austin which left six people out of their homes and one dog dead has been ruled an accident.

AFD says flames broke out on the back deck of a home on Ladera Norte near Bull Creek Park just before 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Officials say they tried to stop them from spreading, but the flames worked their way inside the attic. Because of the heavy roof, crews had to battle the flames from outside the home.
