PhillyBurbs.com:

More than 30 fire departments from as far away as New Jersey and Philadelphia were on the scene during the blaze, which was declared under control shortly before midnight. At the height of the fire about 10 p.m., between 160 and 170 firefighters were fighting flames.

The blaze started in a second-floor apartment on the rear of “B” building shortly after 9 p.m., (Middletown Fire Marshal James) McGuire said. Once the flames reached the attic space it quickly overcame existing fire breaks in the 43-year-old complex, which is owned by Home Properties of Rochester, N.Y.
