Thanks for FireRescue Atlantic for the alert on the story today from Nackawic, New Brunswick.
A man is under arrest after driving his pick-up truck into the Nackawic municipal building and igniting a fire that damaged the building and several fire trucks.
The fire started between 7:30 a.m. and 8 a.m.
The village’s fire chief said a man drove his truck right into the building and that caused the fire.
The RCMP arrested the individual and is investigating the incident.

Nackawic firefighters managed to drive their trucks out of the building, but three sustained significant damage.
One firefighter suffered smoke inhalation.
“We were just here Saturday having a fireman’s breakfast and they put a lot of work into raising money to replace equipment and here we go, in one fell swoop, a tremendous amount of equipment is already gone,” says Tobique-Mactaquac MP Mike Allen.
The 56-year-old driver of the pickup truck was taken into custody. Police say he faces an impaired driving charge.
