911 call: Woman trapped on balcony as Dana Point, CA house burns

This is the 911 call from a woman trapped on the balcony because of a fire in her Dana Point, California (Orange County) home late Tuesday morning.

“The bedroom is on fire,” the 67-year-old woman told a 911 dispatcher. “My house is going fast.”

The exchange was captured in a 911 recording that was released by the Orange County Fire Authority on Wednesday morning. The woman, who has not been identified, told a dispatcher she had nowhere to go, while the dispatcher tried to offer ways she could protect herself from the flames. 

Neighbors grabbed a ladder and helped the woman escape from the balcony.
