Before & after: Puyallup, WA house survives arson where woman set on fire, but not fire 3 hours later
Above and below are video from Matthew Washam taken from two fire department responses about three hours apart Monday to a house in the 7600 block of 159th Street Ct East in Puyallup, Washington.
In the first fire, Pierce County Sheriff’s Department deputies say a woman was critically burned when her boyfriend doused her with gasoline around 8:00 p.m. He was also burned. He’s was arrested after fleeing the scene.
Neighbors said they saw 35-year-old Maria Bazan, whose house was on fire, jump out a side window and scream for help while engulfed in flames.
“It was like something out of a movie. You’ve never seen anything like that. The clothes were melting. I literally saw her panties and they were burnt into her butt,” said witness Stacy Dunivin.
Neighbors said her boyfriend, 39 year-old Angel Reyes, watched and then sped off in his truck.
The mobile home later reignited and huge flames were seen pouring from the building.
