Justin Murphy, Democrat & Chronicle:

No one was in the building when it burned, and no one was injured. The cause is under investigation, East Rochester Fire Chief Mike Romach said. The call first came in about 5:15 p.m.

The building went up in 1884 and, as Penfield Station, welcomed passenger and freight traffic for the New York Central Railroad until 1900, according to a historical marker at the site. It then served as a freight station until the 1960s, when it was converted to commercial space.
