Fire ripped through a home near Elkton on Thursday night, causing an estimated $350,000 in damage and leaving its four occupants homeless, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office.

A passerby called 9-1-1 about 7:45 p.m. after noticing the burning house in the 1100 block of Oldfield Point Road, southwest of Elkton, fire officials reported.
