Balcony rescue caught on video at Windsor high-rise fire
A series of videos from ziad hage showing firefighters in Windsor, Ontario rescuing two people trapped on a 5th floor balcony and then putting out the fire in an apartment around 3:00 Saturday morning.
You can see the man and woman on the balcony in video 2 below, with their rescue occurring on video 3. The knock down of the fire appears to occur in video 6, the last clip. Thanks to Kyle Wilkinson for passing this along.
Two people were transported to hospital and tenants of eight apartment units were displaced following an overnight blaze at 76 Tecumseh Rd. E. in Windsor.
Crews rescued at least two tenants from a back balcony using a ladder from an aerial truck.
“I don’t remember that last time we had an aerial rescue,” said assistant chief fire prevention officer John Lee. “We were lucky to get up close.”
