Raw video: Explosion & fire at Newark, OH dentist’s office after car hits gas line
Video from winbag4 of a fire this morning (Monday) after a car struck a Newark, Ohio building housing a dentist’s office and paint store. It caused a natural gas leak, followed by an explosion.
The incident occurred at Newark Family Dentistry on West Main Street.
A staff member smelled gas and(Dr. Kevin) Urbanek evacuated the building. Shortly after, an explosion blew apart parts of the roof and some walls.
Asst. Fire Chief Tom O’Brien said the driver of the car was checked out by paramedics but was not seriously injured. Firefighters had to go into the building to get oxygen and nitrous oxide tanks out of the building.
