Fire truck falls through hole on parking deck in Greensburg, KY

A fire truck that was gobbled up by a parking lot is now back on solid ground.
When the pavement below collapsed Sunday afternoon, the fire truck from the Summersville Volunteer Fire Department fell into the hole. The parking lot was built over the basement of a demolished building.
The firefighter in the truck at the time was not injured.
Two volunteer firefighters in Greensburg, Kentucky had to be rescued after their rescue vehicle fell into a large hole over an underground garage.
The Summersville Volunteer Fire Department was assisting with a funeral detail when the ground gave way under the weight of the fire truck, which was backing into an empty parking lot.

When the truck made the turn, it fell through the basement of an auto parts store.
The parking lot was built over a former service station which is connected to the store.
Green County received an estimated 4 inches of rain Saturday night. Officials say the accident was non-rain related.
