Early video from Cedar Park, TX house fire

Early video from Tom Nelson as a neighbor’s home catches on fire in Cedar Park, Texas. You also hear either the homeowner or another neighbor complaining at the top of the video about the response time and getting water on the fire.

Here’s a comment on that issue posted to the STATter911.com Facebook page by Assistant Chief Adam Story, Cedar Park FD:

This fire was back in January. Not sure why it is just now getting posted. Our response time was 6 minutes and 12 seconds. That includes dispatch processing and toning time as well as our reaction and travel time. I does seem like an eternity when you are standing there waiting for help. After the fire she and her husband were very thankful and did not give us any grief. Everyone needs to remember that what you say is almost always recorded. I’m sure she wishes she could take back some of those statements she made now. We actually put a pretty good stop on it and saved the majority of the house and belongings. Thanks for all the support in the comments. Stay safe brothers and sisters. – Adam Story, Assistant Fire Chief, Cedar Park Texas.
