St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

The fire appears to have started in the basement and spread through the two-story building, Mosby said.

A nearby fire hydrant was damaged, so firefighters were delayed as they connected to a hydrant on the other side of Interstate 44, which runs parallel to De Tonty to the north.

The firefighter was injured after the fire was put out, Mosby said. His hand got tangled as a 35-foot ladder was being retracted. He was taken to St. Louis University Hospital.
