Video above from firelensman and video below from LOUDLABS NEWS taken early this (Thursday) morning as a wood shop burned at 3724 Whittier Boulevard in the Boyle Heights neighborhood of East Los Angeles.
The greater alarm blaze began shortly after midnight at a structure in the 3700 block of Whittier Boulevard (map) that housed four businesses, LAFD Spokesman Erik Scott said in a statement.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, smoke was pouring out of the building and crews began mounting “an aggressive interior” attack while also performing a ventilation operation from the roof, according to Scott.
But as conditions quickly deteriorated and flames spread “viciously” inside the building, firefighters were ordered out of the structure and off the roof.
