Raw video of warehouse fire near St. Joseph, MO

A fire on Highway 169 north of St. Joseph kept firefighters busy throughout the day Wednesday.

They received a call about the fire at a Blackjack Tire Repair warehouse located at 18872 U.S. 169 around 6:15 a.m.

“We get out here, we had heavy fire inside the building with a lot of smoke and too much fuel,” said Chief Tommy George, Savannah Rural Fire Department.

The fire sent a trail of thick smoke across the highway, forcing authorities to close a portion of 169. The highway closed just south of Avenue City to all traffic until about 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon.
