Raw video of fire in Owen Sound, ON

Hong Saeto said he had put a shirt in the dryer in the laundry room at the back of his home at 586 2nd Ave. E. He believes that is where the fire started.

“I was sleeping and then I heard the fire alarm go on,” Saeto said from the street outside his home as fire crews battled the blaze. “Then I tried to get my dog out.”

Saeto said he then went back into the home to look for his ex-wife, who lived on the second floor of the two-unit duplex.

“I couldn’t find her so I came down,” said Saeto, who added his dog ran back into the house and he was unable to locate it.

Owen Sound deputy-chief Bruno Martina said from the scene that the occupants from both houses were all accounted for, though he didn’t know the whereabouts of any pets that may have been in the houses.
