Caught on video: Woman rescued at Fort Walton Beach, FL apartment fire

This is video from 850 Fireman taken at a fire last Saturday afternoon (March 14) on Wright Parkway S.W. in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. Firefighters find a woman in the burning ground floor apartment and hand her out a window to another firefighter. The woman was initially critical but called the firehouse five days later to thank firefighters. Thanks to Dj Stone on Twitter for passing this one along to STATter911.com.

Trista Pruett, NWFDailyNews.com:

The State Fire Marshal’s Office and Fort Walton Beach police were investigating the cause of the fire. Shannon Stone, battalion chief for the city’s Fire Department, said the blaze was suspicious.

They found a woman inside and got her out through the same window, he said. She was taken to Fort Walton Beach Medical Center in critical condition.

“Their training paid off today,” Stone said of his firefighters. “She’s alive tonight because of them.”
