Corey Rahn, chief of the Rincon Fire Department in Rincon, Georgia has received three tickets after two police officers from a neighboring jurisdiction chased him all the way to an accident scene on April 10. Chief Rahn was almost arrested at that scene but he was instead allowed to go to the police station to pick up his citations. He has been charged with reckless driving, failure to exercise due care and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle. The videos on this page show the pursuit, what happened at the scene and then later at the police station.

This started when Chief Rahn had gone to the town of Pooler (off I-95 west of Savannah) to pick up an air conditioner. It was then that a call came in for a crash between a garbage truck and a gas truck in Rincon. It appears to be about a 15 mile trip. While responding in his red pickup truck, adorned with what EffinghamNow.com describes as an amber and white mini light bar, Rahn caught the attention of a Port Wentworth police officer who says he heard a “a wailing type of horn”.

The officer reported Rahn was weaving in and out of traffic, forcing other vehicles to the left and right shoulders of the road.
“The driver gave no consideration for the safety of himself, or the safety of the motoring public,” the officer reported.
On Ga. 21 at Goshen Road the officer used his PA system to get Rahn to stop.
“The driver never heeded my verbal directions and continued northbound continually forcing vehicles out of his path of travel,” the officer reported.
