Video: Genesis Rescue Systems building in Kettering, OH burns

The fire chief in Kettering, Ohio, Tom Butts, says the building and contents are a total from a fire this (Tuesday) evening at the building housing the shipping department for Genesis Rescue Systems.

According to news coverage all employees had left the building at 5:00 p.m. and the fire was reported at 6:19 p.m.

Firefighters expect to be at the building all night dealing with hot spots.

Here’s a statement from Genesis Rescue Systems posted on its Facebook page at 10:22 p.m. ET:

This evening we suffered a fire in our shipping department in Kettering, Ohio. The fire started after normal business hours, therefore no employees were in the building, and no one was injured. On behalf of all the Genesis employees we thank you all for the well wishes. Our operations will continue at a temporary location nearby.

WHIO-TV:

The fire, believed to have started in the rear of the one-story facility in the 2700 block of Culver Avenue, is under investigation, he said, noting “we have no idea at this time why it started.”

Butts said there is “nothing suspicious whatsoever” about the fire that burned through most of the roof and caused a spare truck tire inside to explode. He declined to guess at estimating the dollar-figure loss.

No one was injured in this massive commercial fire at Genesis Rescue Systems in Kettering, but some amazing pictures…
