This video is of an incident that happened about a year ago-but is excellent for all of our training. You’ll see a relatively small dwelling with an obvious working fire in the rear. As companies were setting up, they found a stripped hydrant, the IC strikes the second right away, crews find a second source, companies go to work etc.
The IC assigned a Captain to handle fire attack and the Captain did as ordered. As he approached the dwelling, San Bernadino Fire Captain Greg Gallagher was struck in the helmet by a powerline line but thankfully did not suffer any injury.

No details with this video from Gaming Tactical showing a live power line falling on a captain at a house fire. According to information in the video the captain was not injured by the insulated line.
