Lake Placid VFD explains guy with shorts, tennis shoes & SCBA fighting fire
The Lake Placid Volunteer Fire Department has an explanation for some pictures taken Saturday during a large fire in the New York resort town. The images have attracted much attention because they show a man fighting fire dressed in a t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. The firefighter, as explained previously was not a member of the Lake Placid VFD but was a visiting fireman in town for the Ironman race:
Although we do not condone anyone entering an incident without the proper PPE, we truly appreciate any and all assistance provided by this individual and a few other professional firefighters that went into action to not only physically assist, but, also to provide us with their professional insight.
