Caught on video: Giant red ball escapes in Toledo

This has nothing to do with the fire service, but I guess it could have. Just sharing it because it is hilarious. It looks like a scene out of an early Woody Allen movie, but this really happened in Toledo, Ohio Wednesday. High winds dislodged a giant inflatable red ball that is part of an art project and the chase was on. Luckily no one was injured.

The Blade:

The recovery team included members of the traveling crew, museum staff, bystanders, and a waiter from Ice, Ms. Garrow said. Some can be seen in a video sprinting after the ball as it turns the corner from Madison Avenue onto St. Clair Street.

RedBall, a traveling performance art piece by artist Kurt Perschke, is a 15-foot, 250-pound inflatable red ball, meant to draw attention to city spaces often overlooked by its residents, the artist said in a forum at Promenade Park on Tuesday.
