One firefighter was hurt after debris fell on him at a two-alarm townhouse fire today (Saturday) in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The fire was in the 4200 block of Apple Orchard Lane in Suitland. Prince George’s County Fire/EMS Department Chief Spokesman Mark Brady reports via Twitter that the firefighter was transported to a trauma center but has non-life threatening injuries.
Brady also says that these are sprinklered townhomes but that the fire started on a rear deck and “travelled up (the) rear exterior wall and into attic.” According to Brady the “fire bypassed all smoke alarms and residential sprinklers.” Three homes were damaged.
