Firefighters make good on promise to 4-year-old boy they rescued from well

On Monday, 4-year-old Gabe Allbritton fell into a 24-inch wide well right after his toy poodle Odie fell into the same well. The firefighters from Zetus VFD, who spent hours rescuing the boy and his dog, returned to his home yesterday (Saturday) to make good on a promise.

Scott Simmons, WAPT-TV:

They brought pizza and the Zetus Volunteer Fire Department truck.

“We promised him some pizza and a ride on a fire truck if he would step in the loop so we could pull him out”, said Dale Anding, Zetus Volunteer Fire Department fire chief.

“If it weren’t for these people my son wouldn’t be here. He has has been talking about this ever since it happened. He has been wanting to ride on that fire truck,” Lindy Allbritton, Gabe’s, mother said.
