Helmet-cam video posted by Ethan Adams from a house fire Wednesday in Pleasant Hill, North Carolina (Wilkes County). Chief Andy Chatman of Pleasant Hill VFD sent STATter911.com this description of the fire:
Our units arrived to find a single-story frame dwelling, well involved on the north end of the home. Our guys made a quick exterior knock down using 2 lines. The line in the video is a 2” line, and the other crew used an 1-3/4” line from the Alpha side of the home, and one crew made an aggressive primary search on the south end of the home. From there we switched to defensive operations until the fire was extinguished. It was on a very NARROW paved “road” (more like a driveway). To be in a rural setting we were very blessed with water supply and mutual aid. Within minutes we had in excess of 6,000 gallons of water on scene and a hydrant ¼ mile away.
Pleasant Hill Volunteer Fire Department was the primary agency, those assisting were:
Austin Vol. Fire Department
Ronda Community Fire Department
State Road Fire Department
C.C. Camp Fire Department
