Caught on dash-cam: Deadly tanker crash & fire on New Jersey Turnpike
Dash-cam video shows the moment a tanker truck overturned and burned on the New Jersey Turnpike yesterday (Wednesday) afternoon near Kearny. The driver of the truck was killed.
Results from a preliminary investigation by the State Police Wednesday night indicate debris on the roadway played a role in the crash. The driver of the tanker truck lost control around 3:15 p.m., when traffic slowed due to several mattresses and box springs on the highway.

The truck slid across the right lane and shoulder before slamming into the guardrail and flipping over, bursting into flames, State Police said. The driver, who remained unidentified pending further investigation, was trapped in the truck and died at the scene.
