Caught on video: Wall collapse at Chicago 2-11 warehouse fire

The video above from Arvell Dorsey Jr. isolates a wall collapse during last (Monday) nights 2-11 alarm at 3057 N. Rockwell in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago. Below is the full video that begins somewhat early in the operation, along with more early video from Steve Redick (SRResquire) including a series of still images from  the collapse.

Eric Horng, WLS-TV:

The Chicago Fire Department was called to the newly-renovated building near Rockwell and Barry around 7:45 p.m. Monday.

According to Ald. Deb Mell, the building was to become a type of culinary complex – housing food companies and retail – that was to provide an economic boon to the area. It’s unclear how much of that project is now destroyed.
