Must see video: Fireball engulfs aerial ladder with firefighter on tip

Watch the video below from a fire last last (Sunday) night at Dolma Foods, a specialty food store on St. George Street in Moncton, New Brunswick. The fireball that engulfed the tip of the aerial ladder with a firefighter on the ladder is being described by firefighters and in news coverage as coming from a backdraft. There were no injuries during the fire. The fire also destroyed a sushi restaurant. Thanks to Brian Cameron for sending this to STATter911.com.

CBC-TV:

Fire chief Eric Arsenault said firefighters were still at the scene on Monday morning, trying to extinguish the blaze.

Arsenault said the fire was made more difficult to extinguish because of its metal roof and siding.

The building is no longer standing.

Marie Mourant’s video of backdraft starts at about 1:00. Warning some strong language is used.

Dolma Food, St. George Street MonctonWait for it (around 1:00)… Hope the firefighter will be OK.
