PA firefighters hurt after house explodes during gas leak call
News reports indicate as many as four firefighters were hurt this (Friday) morning after a house exploded in Littlestown, Pennsylvania (Adams County).
The incident was reported at 10:37 a.m. in the 300 block of Lexington Way, dispatch said. Four firefighters who reportedly were injured are being transported to medical facilities, and multiple fire companies are on the scene.
Officials confirmed that firefighters were inside the house when the explosion confirmed. Two were airlifted from the scene, and two others were taken to nearby hospitals with minor injuries.
Columbia Gas had called the fire department after their systems detected gas, he said.
The most extensive damage was in the rear of the house.
