Videos capture close call as propane tank explodes with firefighters at scene

No one was hurt during a fire and explosion at the construction site for American Greetings Creative Studio near Crocker Park. 

Hundreds of construction workers were told to evacuate around 10:30 a.m. Thursday due to a fire.

The fire started near two propane tanks that were sitting about 10 feet away from the north side of the building.

“The flames were about 60 feet in the air,” said August Decaro. He was one of the people working on construction inside the building.

As emergency crews were responding to the fire, one of the propane tanks ruptured and caused a huge explosion.
