From Lt. Chris Skrekla of Fuller Hose Co. #1:

The fire referenced on your website occurred within our first due district on Saturday, March 19,2016 at 19:12 hours. The address of the fire was 9355 West Main Road in North East.

Initial dispatch was Fuller Hose Co. #1 and Crescent Hose Co.#2 both of North East. Dispatch informed responding companies that they had multiple calls and a working fire in a 2 story multiple family home.

Crews arrived to find the above home with a heavy working fire on the A and D side with a working vehicle fire on the D side as well.

Mutual aid companies were started immediately including Harborcreek Vol. Fire Department, Fairfield Vol. Fire Department, Lawrence Park Vol. Fire Department, Kuhl Hose Company (RIT) and Ripley Vol. Fire Department out of New York State.

At 20:00 hours the IC radioed East County Communication requesting 2 additional ambulances and an additional ALS unit for a fall victim from a ladder. Units operating on scene observed the fall and were immediately able to render aid to the two downed firefighters. Both the firefighter that fell and the one landed on were treated at the scene and did not require transport to the hospital.

However after returning to their station they both sought medical attention for a full check up.

An investigation has begun and we are currently working on securing the video from the local television station to aid in the investigation.

The firefighters involved were both from the Lawrence Park Vol. Fire Department. Their chief issued this statement today due to the social media speculation:
