Caught on video: Major collapse at Jersey Shore fire – two firefighters hurt
A multi-alarm fire injured at least two firefighters and destroyed a group of businesses this (Friday) afternoon in Keyport, New Jersey. The firefighters were hurt during a major collapse of the structure (see first two videos below). Just below the collapse videos is 17-minutes of video shot earlier in the operation.
Shannon Mullen & Ken Serrano, Asbury Park Press:
The earliest report of the fire came in shortly before 4 p.m. Firefighters were still dousing flames and hot spots in one of the gutted buildings at 6:30 p.m. when the fire appeared to be under control.
There was no word on the cause or on the condition of the injured firefighters. Officials did not immediately release information.
A Mayday alert went out shortly before 5 p.m. for the trapped firefighters.
