A man police say was drunk accidentally set his vehicle on fire Thursday in Cupertino, California and remained inside until another man pulled him to safety.
Aram Harutyunyan was on his way to lunch when he saw black smoke coming from the car in Cupertino.
Then he noticed someone was inside the vehicle and ran up to help.
The Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Office told KPIX-TV the person pulled from the vehicle was suspected of driving under the influence and had accidentally set his car engine on fire.
Authorities said Harutyunyan likely saved the driver’s life.
