Texas volunteer firefighter charged with impersonating a cop

 

TX Waco Beverly Hill ff accused of playing cop 1A 31-year-old volunteer firefighter in Beverly Hills, Texas, David Vann Reese, has been charged by Waco police with impersonating a public servant after an incident Wednesday where a man said he was pulled over by a vehicle with red and white emergency lights.

Reese used his maroon Chevrolet Tahoe to stop a vehicle in the Rudy’s barbecue restaurant parking lot, 2510 Circle Road, at about 9 p.m. and demanded the a license and insurance information from the driver, (Waco Police Department Sgt. W. Patrick) Swanton said.

The man who was stopped reported the Tahoe had emergency lights that included red and white lights only and had nothing to indicate it was a police vehicle, he said. The man also reported Reese appeared to be intoxicated.

The victim did not see any identification proving that Reese was a police officer and questioned Reese, where he then fled from the scene.

Reese is not a law enforcement official but has been a volunteer firefighter for the City of Beverly Hills. At the time of the incident, Reese was suspended.

Reese is charged with Impersonation of Public Servant.
