Early video from Ricky Mollenkopf taken yesterday (Sunday) evening during a fire at 1444 First Street in Rensselaer, New York.
Rensselaer Assistant Fire Chief Jay Corcoran says a call for the structure fire came in around 6:20 p.m. Sunday afternoon. The Rensselaer Fire Department arrived on the scene just four minutes later.
According to officials no one inside the building was injured in the fire, but one firefighter was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Assistant Chief Corcoran says firefighters had a particularly difficult time battling this fire, due to Sunday’s high heat, with temperatures in the Capital District very nearly reaching the 90’s.
