The fourth floor of an apartment building caught fire Tuesday night in Pikesville and the flames quickly spread to cause three alarms, firefighters said.
Firefighters were dispatched shortly after 10 p.m. to apartments on the 100 block of Slade Ave. Once inside, firefighters were stationed on each floor of the six-story building to monitor the conditions. Some residents were asked to shelter in place. Others were advised to wait on their balconies. Ladder trucks were ready to rescue the neighbors if the flames spread, firefighters said.
