Raw video & radio traffic: Duplex fire threatens 6-story building in New Jersey

Early video with radio traffic from tornadochaser66 taken at a two-alarm fire yesterday (Thursday) in Paterson, New Jersey.

Andrew Wyrich, NorthJersey.com:

Thirteen people were displaced and one dog died on Thursday morning as a fire raged through a duplex on Broadway, officials said.

Paterson firefighters responded to the two-and-a-half story duplex at 286 Broadway at approximately 11:30 a.m., Deputy Chief Frank Calamita said. When they arrived they found the fire “shooting” out of the second floor and extending into the attic, Calamita said. The flames were also beginning to touch the six story brick apartment building next to the duplex, Calamita said.

The firefighters had an “aggressive interior operation” to stop the fire from spreading, Calamita said, and the fire was under control by 12:35 p.m.
