If you are a firefighter whose ever been to DC’s Verizon Center you probably know what sits diagonally across the intersection at 6th Street and F Street, Northwest. It’s the DC Fire and EMS Department firehouse that’s the quarters of Engine 2, Rescue Squad 1, Medic Unit 2, EMS-8, Deputy Fire Chief/Operations Division, Field Command Unit and Mobile Command Unit (hope I didn’t leave anyone out).
This was not lost on NBC Sports. They shot this Stanley Cup Playoffs promo with some of the hockey fans assigned to that firehouse.
Before the comments start coming in, yes the DC Fire and EMS Department allows beards. This rule change occurred during the administration of former Chief Kenneth Ellerbe.
