Previous coverage of this story

If you searched the word “firefighter” in Google News any day since about last Friday the top entries all were articles from around the world about one firefighter — Tyler Roysdon. The good news is that Roysdon is now officially no longer a firefighter. He resigned yesterday (Monday) from the Franklin Township Fire Department in Warren County, Ohio.

We first reported last Thursday that Roysdon had been suspended from the department pending a disciplinary hearing after racist Facebook posts from the firefighter were discovered. Those posts are in the images above and below.

Ed Richter, Journal-News:

A Franklin Twp. firefighter who posted a racially charged comment on social media last week has resigned.

Tyler Roysdon submitted his resignation as a volunteer firefighter on Monday, according to township officials.
