The rig appears to be from the Whitney Fire District. According to the Whitney Fire Protection District website, “The District station and fire engines are staffed by Boise City Fire Department personnel per the contract agreement.”
The water line that ruptured Monday evening ran under University Drive near the Student Union Building.
Ada County dispatch said a Boise Fire Department engine fell into a sinkhole at around 7 p.m. Monday. Luckily, no firefighters or bystanders were hurt.
