Lawrenceburg (TN) Fire Department announced the death of 38-year-old Engineer Jason Dickey an 11-year career member of the department. Jason Dickey died in a structural collapse at a house fire last (Monday) night.

The fire was dispatched at 4:27 p.m. A mayday was called during overhaul at 7:57 p.m. after the collapse trapped six firefighters. RIT had freed all firefighters by 8:09 p.m.

The Tennessee Fire and Codes Enforcement Academy on Tuesday identified the fallen firefighter as Lawrenceburg Fire Department firefighter Jason Dickey. Two other firefighters were injured in the blaze.

The fire broke out about 4 p.m. at a home on the 500 block of Hoods Lake Road off Andrew Jackson Highway, about 85 miles southwest of Nashville, authorities said.

According to The Daily Herald in Columbia, Tenn., about 8 p.m., crews transmitted a “Mayday Emergency” and reported the three firefighters were trapped as the result of a collapse.
