Scott MacFarlane is a reporter with the News 4 I-Team at WRC-TV/NBC4 in Washington, DC. Today (Friday), while on another assignment, Scott took some time to investigate why a DC police officer used his siren to move traffic and then parked in a crosswalk, blocking a hydrant. As you will see in the series of tweets, Scott didn’t get an answer before he had to go, but he witnessed the officer walking into the Walgreen’s at 12th and F, NW. There Scott says the officer was laughing and drinking a bottled water on a hot day. Scott says he watched this for about 20 minutes before leaving.
Always glad to see hydrant parking publicized no matter who is doing the parking. If Scott can’t get some answers from DC Police maybe he can get his NBC colleagues in New York to finally respond to the hydrant parking by a news crew at a fire recently (see last tweet). NBC New York never responded to my tweets.
12th and F St northwest. DC police officer is in Walgreen’s. Still https://t.co/6wgcixSChe

Interesting – Officer used his siren to move us from interviewing someone so he could park…. next to a hydrant & go in a drug store. pic.twitter.com/mRGvWTttja

On another assignment… so time was limited… but we were able to watch the officer inside the Walgreen's laughing and drinking a bottled water. To be clear, he used siren to move US away from food truck, so he could park by hydrant. And stayed at least 20 mins
