Video (above) from a training fire set in an abandoned Denny’s Restaurant in Carmichael, California. A Sacramento Metro firefighter fell while climbing a ladder. More video from the exercise is below.
The fire was set around 11 p.m. However, the training exercise had to be put on hold shortly after a firefighter fell while climbing a ladder.
“When we have an injury like that, we want to stop, reset, make sure everybody feels good about continuing,” Vestal said.
Vestal said the firefighter was taken to the hospital to be checked out. Doctors said he was uninjured and cleared to return to work immediately.
