D.C. fire officials are looking into whether two Maryland women arrested in Georgia scammed their firefighters.

D.C. fire officials are investigating to determine if Cinita Pedone and Danwnetta Underwood may have taken personal information from local firefighters.

Earlier this week, the two women were arrested in Atlanta for allegedly trying to sell fraudulent supplemental insurance policies to police officers in Georgia.

“They walked in and said they were from employee benefits they were there to talk about enhanced benefit packages and supplemental insurance,” said Paul Cooper, of the Atlanta Police Department.

According to the D.C. Firefighters Association, the women tried to pull off the same scheme in D.C. Recently, they visited several fire station in the area trying to sell fake insurance policies.

Authorities are still trying to figure out how many people may have been affected.

“We’re still actually compiling victim list we’ve recovered 39 packets of information,” Cooper said.
