From Honey Brook Fire Company 1 website:

At 1007 hours, Station 33 (Honey Brook), Station 69 (Twin Valley), Lancaster Engine 34-1 (Caernarvon), Ladder 49 for RIT (East Brandywine) and Ambulance 189 (Elverson-HB EMS) were dispatched to the 600 block of Water Street in Honey Brook Borough for a reported house fire. As Chester County 911 received more information Medic 93 (Brandywine Hosp.) was added to the assignment for the possibility of two subjects trapped inside. Ambulance 1893 arrived and reported smoke from the rear of a single family ranch style house.

Engine 33-1 (Robb) arrived and laid a supply line from a nearby hydrant on Route 10 and split crews to perform a rapid search and fire suppression. Chief 33 (Klinger) arrived and established Water Street Command, upon the completion of a 360 degree size up the decision was made to focus on the rescue efforts and then find and extinguish the fire. Engine 33-5 completed the connection to the hydrant and then proceeded to the scene and was ordered to assist in the removal of a fire victim from the structure who unfortunately had succumbed to the fire.

Mutual aid units arrived and assisted with the suppression efforts and secondary searches. It was determined after multiple searches of the residence only one subject was inside at the time of the fire not two. Ladder 69 and Ladder 49 conducted vertical ventilation of the structure to remove the high levels of smoke and heat. The fire was placed under control at 1047 hours.
