This is the latest dash-cam video with radio traffic from David Decker‘s Newark (OH) Fire Department command vehicle. Here’s the description with the video:
On March 27, 2019 at 1920 hours NFD units were dispatched 967 Grafton Road for a report of an apartment fire. While responding dispatch advised they had received numerous calls for a report an explosion with a fire. They also reported people jumping from windows to escape the fire.
This apartment complex consists of nine buildings. The fire building is located on the west end of the complex with a narrow driveway in a loop pattern. There are 16 units in this apartment building which measures 130′ x 55′. I have inserted pictures to indicate the fire building, fire location, and apparatus positioning of the 1st alarm companies. NFD responded with 2 engines, 1 ladder, 3 medics, and a battalion chief for a total strength of 17 firefighters. We received assistance from several mutual aid companies. A 2nd alarm was requested with most of those units remaining in staging or canceled prior to arrival. An adult male victim jumped from the fire apartment and was subsequently airlifted by Air-Evac 107 to Ohio State University Hospital for burn injuries. No other civilians or firefighters were injured. Fire was confined to one apartment with some fire extension into the attic space above the apartment.
