Squad 3 from the Waldorf VFD in Charles County, Maryland overturned this (Sunday) morning while responding to a reported structure fire during a snow storm. There were no injuries reported. Southern Maryland News Net has the radio traffic from the crash here.
One of our regular readers reminds us that keeping Southern Maryland heavy rescues upright has been a challenge in the month of January. Eleven-years-ago, Waldorf’s Squad 3 overturned (below) after a car pulled out in front of the rig during a response. It left four firefighters with relatively minor injuries.
That crash occurred one day after Squad 7 from the St. Leonard VFD & Rescue Squad in neighboring Calvert County overturned (below) while responding to a report of a stove fire.
