Pennsylvania Firefighter Sean DeMuynck dies in house fire

Firefighter Sean W. DeMuynck died while fighting a fire last (Sunday) night in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. According to news reports, the Penn Wynne firefighter was scheduled to move back to his native Canada today with his wife.
Officials said Firefighter Sean W. DeMuynck was found unresponsive on the third floor of the home. He was taken to Lankenau Medical Center where he died a short time later.
DeMuynck served as a volunteer firefighter since August 2019. He is survived by his wife and parents, officials said.
According to officials, DeMuynck and his wife are Canadian and had planned to move home to rejoin their family on Monday.

LOWER MERION VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER
DIES IN THE LINE OF DUTYOn July 4 at 10:34 PM, the Penn Wynne/Overbrook Hills Fire Company responded to a reported structure fire on Rosedale Road, Wynnewood, PA, Lower Merion Township. Upon arrival, units found the structure heavily involved with fire and smoke, fire suppression began, and incident command was established.
At approx. 11:02 pm a mayday was received. The Rapid Intervention Crew went into service and volunteer Firefighter Sean W. DeMuynck was located on the third floor of the residence and was unresponsive. The Rapid Intervention Crew rescued Firefighter DeMuynck from the residence and transported to Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood via Narberth Ambulance, departing the scene at approximately11:30 pm
and arriving at the Lankenau Hospital emergency department at approximately 11:37 pm.Lankenau Hospital staff were unable to revive Firefighter DeMuynck, and he was pronounced deceased at 12:22 am.
Firefighter DeMuynck faithfully served the citizens of Penn Wynne and Lower Merion Township as a Volunteer Firefighter since August of 2019. He is survived by his wife and parents. Firefighter DeMuynck and his wife are Canadian and planned to move back home to rejoin their family today, July 5, 2021. Firefighter DeMuynck will be missed.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
